Hey. I was about to RMA my PSU (Antec HCG 620M) because its being a bit weird.

I have the choice of getting an RMA, which is letting them charge my card so I can get the replacement and once they get my defected unit, they will refund.

Or should I go to a different route to get some other PSU?

If I get a PSU, I would like one around 600 watts? Would love it to be semi-modular or modular if you can.

Would like to buy from either newegg or amazon.

Specs:

i7-4790

Patriot Viper 3 8GB

MSI Z97 Guard Pro

R9 280 Double Dissipation

HGST 1TB

Corsair 300R

I would personally get the same unit, it's a quality Seasonic made unit and the chances are you got a one-off faulty unit

OR

get a full refund if possible and go with the above unit, which is OEM'd by SuperFlower who I would say are about on-par with Seasonic atm

But IMO the best option is to just keep the RMA unit.

errr. so i get 2 psu's..?

You can't RMA and just get your money back or put it towards a different model? That's how it works here.

Newegg (currently out of stock unfortunately, it's very popular). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438017&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

If he's getting an RMA from the manufacturer, then it's most likely a replacement. If it's an RMA with the retailer, he could get a full refund/put it towards a new model, but it sounds like an RMA with the manufacturer if they're cross-shipping him a new unit (OP is driving distance from retailer).

@MattTheMayor If Fry's will let you return the Antec for a full refund, you could do that and go about getting a PSU with more features. But if they don't, just accept the RMA. It's a reputable PSU from a reputable brand. No point spending another $50-100 and having an extra PSU.

Aight, obviously I'm not implying he should get a 2nd PSU. Only if it's an RMA from the retailer where we can get the refund.
