I just tried to fit one of my SP120's in to my case but the screws that came with it completely shredded the silicon corners.

Is this a fault with the product itself or did I install it incorrectly?

Nope I had this problem, it didn't even get the screw close to tight and it shreadded the rubber off the fan and the metal ring that is in the fan had come off n I had a bolt stuck to my pc case, took ages to get it off. . . These fans a pain to fit, someone said on here it's a good idea to pre-screw them a couple of times out the case before mounting them.

Did you RMA it with Corsair or the retailer?
