Web browsers giving security warnings when visiting sites using HTTPS

Go to solution Solved by Yummychickenblue,

Ok so I restarted the computer to see if the date/time settings in the BIOS were correct. (I had read somewhere that the CMOS battery could cause time/date problems if it was dying.) No problems there so I turn on the computer. When I open chrome I can view sites using HTTPS again! So something that I did allowed to to do that. Thanks to you all!

Hello Forums!

This started about a day ago I think. When visiting secure sites like https://google.com(orany other site using HTTPS) Chrome gives me a security warning. YT wasn't effected until just a few minutes ago. I also tried using IE, same errors. I tried changing timezone/what website Windows uses to sync it's clocks and this error didn't go away. (I had previously gotten suggestions to do that.)

Here's a pic one of the errors:

It was also giving me a different one but that let me ignore the warning where as this one doesn't.

(Yes I know this is a repost but I figured you guys may be able to help me more than the troubleshooting forum.)

Check the time/date settings

Check your proxy settings under Internet options

Check your hosts

Set your DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Changing my preferred DNS routes didn't help. What do you mean check my hosts?
