Upload speed, DSL advantage?

I realize it varies from ISP, but I've heard one advantage DSL has over broadband is the upload speeds are typically better? any truth to this?

dsl upload speeds go up to something like a maximum of 1mbps and that is if you are basically right next to the exchange.

Desktop: 16gb Ram, i7-2600k, GTX 560 OC.    Laptop: i7, 8gb DDR3, 840m GPU

Server 1 (Files and AD): i3 3220, 4gb DDR3, 1TB Western Digital Blue, Overkill motherboard I got for free (better than main computer) changed to xeon, don't remember exactly what but xeon version of the processor  and 8gb ECC Ram   Server 2 (games): 8gb Ram, i5, Geforce 710m

Not better. More reliable. Unlike cable which is a shared median Phone lines are dedicated circuits so you are more likely to hit the advertised speed you purchase anytime during the day unlike cable where it varies depending on how many people are online. And depending how close your are to the CO your speeds can vary as well there too.
