alright so i have a samsung ls22a300bsy/za monitor, i received it used, and for the past few hours i have been trying to get it to display as my second monitor.  I have gotten my computer to detect the monitor on my on board graphics card( which works i tried it with my other monitor).  now when i turn on the monitor, not connected, it displays check signal connection so i know that the monitor can display an image.  However when i plug the monitor into my computer the display turns completely off and the power button flashes, meaning it is asleep.  I updated the firmware and made sure all of the drivers are up to date any help that you could give me would be helpful.

Thanks!

The reason why it doesn't work is because when you have a Graphics Card installed, any Display Outputs will go out from the GPU, not the Onboard Solution.
Connect the second monitor to your 760, and it should work! A friend of mine did the exact same thing, and that was the solution!  ;)

This, all displays must be connected to the GPU and not iGPU when a GPU is present.

Connect both to your 760 then right click desktop, click Screen Resolution then click detect and both should come on, then you can adjust resolution and cloned or extended display.

i had that problem too and i went into my bios and enabled multi display or something and i got it to work.  I need another dvi cable to connect it to my graphics card, ill try that and see if it works.

Thanks!

You can use the iGPU even with a GPU installed in the system. You just have to make sure this BIOS option is enabled

http://www.manualslib.com/manual/549847/Asrock-Z87-Extreme4.html?page=91

and that you have the Intel HD graphics driver installed.

Select your operating system and then the ones marked VGA drivers.

Restart and it should work fine.
