SSD Filling with unexplained data.

Go to solution Solved by Silentghost14,

Stupid System Protection. So it turned out to be that windows was filling up 40gb with system restore points because of a feature i was unaware that existed or even needed to setup. Now that i have is setup right everything is were it should be. It was this post that allowed my to figure it out http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/309358-system-restore-on-ssd/. Thanks to everyone who helped out.

So i currently am running a Kingston 240gb ssd combined with a barracuda 750gb drive on my windows 7 machine. I just recently noticed that the total amount of all files on the ssd are not ever close to the size of its total used space. Its telling me i have about 40gb of file and 155gb used. What is filling my dive up? I cant seem to explain it any help would be appropriated.

You sure about that? It can re-enable if it runs low on memory.

Now that you mention it i have been hitting to roof lastly rendering 8k images. How can i check to see if it enabled it self again because in the setting its telling me its disabled under advanced system settings?

Do SSD's fill up completely before they start overwriting because when i analyze my ssd with defraggler the map appears to have a huge empty space in the middle. It would also explain why when i use disk analyzer in ccleaner nothing is listed under other files which is the usage i cant explain.
