Hello, I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what I plan to build soon. I really just want a super compact pc that I can take to my friend's houses and carry around without struggling. Thanks for the suggestions. :)

Would the stock cooler be good enough for the compactness of the case?

It should do fine, though I'd try to make the extra room in the budget for the L9i anyways.

What's the system being used for?

The L9i doesn't perform much better than the stock cooler and isn't really worth $45.

Do you think I could fit this in there. It is only $30 at Newegg right now, but I'm worried about space. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rls12v24pkr1

Probably not without modding as there is very little room between your fan and the ram/gpu. What you could do is get the build without both coolers, them messsure if it will fit (your fan thinkness + 27mm for the radiator), and then buy the aio if it fits or get something else if it doesnt.

or ask someone to messure for you. there is an ownersclub for owners of this specific case. would be the best place to ask.

My rig. Case & psu: evga hadron air. Cpu: Intel i5 4690k. Gpu: MSI gtx970 4gd5 OC. Mobo: Gigabyte GA-z97n gaming 3. Ram: 2x4gb Crucial Balistics Tactical @ 1866mhz. Cooler: Noctua NH-U9B se2. Ssd: Crucial mx100 512gb.

Cool thanks. I read that up and it sounds like the pc-tu100 has some cooling issues, a real shame (could have guessed it though). I think I might go for the Silverstone sg05 instead for practically the same size, but better cooling options.

I'd recommend a smaller case for portability like the Elite 110 in the first place and to probably stick with the stock cooler.

I updated the link for the build. The computer will mainly be used for gaming but the most intensive game I will play on it will probably be Dayz.

Looks good, but keep in mind that if you should upgrade that 960, you will have to upgrade the pentium too and there will be no OCing on that mobo

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.

Not sure how to check what part works with what? Check out my compatibility guide!

You could get a hadron air. I personally use it. Its as high as an xbox 360, only its twice as wide. But with a noctua nh-u9b cpu cooler and a blowerstyle gpu its cools so well. ;)

What would you recommend for the mobo and processor? Or a graphics card that wouldn't be bottlenecked.

If you aren't doing any OCing on the ITX PC, then just upgrade to an i5-4440 or 4460. Mobos only offer features to your PC, not any processing power. That i5 will prepare you for any card like a 980 and even SLI, if your board wasn't ITX

Edit: I'd stick a 970 or 980 in there too.....

Is the optical drive really necessary?

If I upgraded the mobo to an over-clockable one would the Pentium bottleneck the 960? I was thinking I could overclock it if it does bottleneck the 960. I don't really need anything more expensive that the Pentium and 960 for the games that I play.

If you used your current setup, and didn't OC the CPU, I think it would bottleneck A LITTLE BIT, not much. Manufacturers have been releasing updates to let you OC the G3258 but without voltage control. If you think the G3258 and 960 is all you need to play games then have at it....

I like to have one just because I like to play some older games that are on cd's.

It could be cheaper if you just opt for an external optical drive: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/byR9vK

Ok thanks for letting me know. I always thought external drives would be more expensive so I didn't even look into it.
