hi, i just bought intel g3258 and asus h81m-a. it's currently running @ 4.2ghz, 1.1 vcore with 50-60c temp (stock cooler) under load. I have a few questions. I already update the bios to the latest version.

1. is 60-70c safe temp? or should i lower my overclock?

2. how can i make the voltage change depends on my cpu load? i set it to manual @ 1.1 vcore, but the settings in bios have only auto, manual and offset. does asus h81m-a board support adaptive voltage?

3. if i can only used manual voltage. it is a big deal for power consumption?

4. and does fan xpert will continue even if i close the ai suite 3?

thanks.

1. your fine

2. pretty sure the h81 is a locked board and does not support overclocking

3. no

4. not sure

thanks. i already overclock my cpu, but there is no adaptive option in my bios :(

So I reread your thread. You will switch into manual. That is all you can do. Power consumption should not be a problem with a 500 watt PSU or Higher

So how do you change your voltage then??

as i said above, i used manaul voltage, set it to 1.100, but linus said that after stress testing, set the voltage to adaptive for some power saving, but the only option i can found is auto, manual and offset. and if i hit 60-70 temp? is still good? or should i lower my overclock?

I think you are Fine man. Everything should be good with a 500 watt PSU or Higher.

okay, any idea on my question 1, 3 and 4? :D

I answered 3. For number one, that is a little high. I would not overclock that much with stock heatsink. Number four, yea close the program, you will be fine

1- yes safe load temps

2- B and H series boards do not support adaptive voltage when overclocking.

3-power consumption will be only slightly higher at idle same at load

4- im fairly certain fan expert wont work if you close ai suite or uninstall it. set your fan curves in the uefi so you dont have to rely on aisuite

I already answered this and you are fighting my answer. 4, I use AI suite and I close it and it works fine. 3 and 2, he will use manual and as long as he has 500 watts or more he should be fine. 1, those are not the best temps. If it was me and I was running stock cooler, than I would turn it down.

I offered my input I didnt quote your information

those temps are fine

500w or more for static voltage ...are you crazy mang .. static idle voltage has nothing to do with a psu current capability ..

google a user for validation

prokon intel <----Google that

i just googled you .....error no results
