SLI Scaling solved ?

There are a few groups that make them, although I've never tried it. I've had one or two people in the guild I am apart of say they always use custom drivers and always get better performance because of it. I googled and got this

http://www.tweakforce.com/

Not sure if they have gtx 980 drivers yet.

Have any of their drivers resolved SLI issues? Just found 980 compatible ones.

your thought process is wrong entirely.

  1. Its hardware impossible to have them do it, since they dont fully support DX12_0
  2. even if a driver could fix this, nv wouldnt do it, to drive the sales up

Why is every good thing nowadays locked up by marketing concerns???? Why????

No idea. I haven't used any of them. The people I was talking to all use AMD hardware as well.

If I get a less than satisfactory experience with sli 970's and triple monitor surround, I'll probably look more into it.

Ha ha ha !!!! Nice one. I get it. No matter what we do, nvidia wouldn't make a driver to enable heavy sli scaling, it would hurt business matters.

it would have some issues with sync , if one of them starts to throttle then the other ones would have to slow down too or it would cause sync issues, and if they have to slow down till they get synced up i think it would cause tearing .

i wonder if it would cause vertical tearing too? (just a thought)

I'm not a graphics expert by any means, but here's why this won't work:

  • All of the GPUs would have to be running the same frame rate, all the time
  • The GPU memory would still have to be shared across the three, in the case that a texture or shader is displayed on more than one section of the GPU's screen
  • You can't just have shading calculations be spread across multiple GPUs on the same frame.

(Sorry if this has already been mentioned, I didn't read the whole thread)

Ultimately, graphics calculations, more often than not, depend on each other. Reflections, lighting, etc. would be almost impossible using this design.
