I use krylon paint from lowes with a clear coat.

Plasti-dip, because just in case you have to RMA, you have to send the original product, and you just peel off the plasti-dip

It really depends on how much wear they may receive and the look you want. plasti-dip gives a really nice matte grippy touch to it which can attract dirt and finger prints so it will need to be cleaned if touched often, it also lacks abrasion or contact pressure since it's a rubber coating it will tend to peel or rip. however for the interior of systems and parts you don't want to permanently color they are great for that.

 

That being said i have part of my side panels plasti-dipped and it worked great just have to be careful when moving it around.

I have seen entire Motherboards plasti-dipped, so there should not be a problem

Plasti-dip can withstand temps of 100C and the bracket itself won't reach anywhere close to that.
