  • icon_info_sgl.gifThe Corsair Dominator Platinum 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2400 Memory operating voltage of 1.65V exceeds the Intel Haswell Refresh CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum. this show up at the bottom when i pair it with corsair RAM, should i choose another brand? or MHz speed?

Intel says the memory controller on Haswell cpu chips can handle memory up to 1.5V. However, Intel also certifies XMP profiles for memory, like the Dominator Platinum, that will work with Haswell chips. The message is classic CYA. But what is true is that when first added to a motherboard the memory will run slower, most likely 1333, until an XMP profile is selected in the BIOS.

Dominator Platinum are quite expensive and no better than numerous other brands.

just saw this site on building pc, http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/im not a tech guy so i dont know why is the corsair RAM being set to lower voltage.

is that a bad thing? what else can you recommend for RAM.

Dude I made that.....

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
