h110 temperature question

Hi All,

So i recently got the h110 cooler and while doing stress tests have reached core temps of almost 90 degrees on aida64 with no overclocks, ample airflow with both side panels off. I have tried to reseat and repaste the h110 but temps have stayed the same. Do i have a defective unit? i noticed some scratches on the cpu block.

These temps were a result of doing the FPU stress test of aida64.

should i get in contact with corsair for a replacement? any help would be greatly appreciated.

What does it run on idle?

what is the specs of you PC and also how do you have your fans orientated?

32gb gskill ripjaws 9-9-9-24 1600mhz ddr3
gfx: 280x windforce rev 2

mobo: gigabyte hd3 z87

fans are oriented in a push setup out of the top of the case

two fans in the front, one in the back two 140mm on the rad and one 120mm from the bottom of the case

well the case is built to be quiet so it is restricts the airflow in the case a bit try running the case with the door off and see of your getting the same temps

The original tests with aida64 fpu were done with the side panels off

oh ok well then you have an issue check the temps on the stock air cooler if you still have it.

and try to listen to see if your pumps pumping

Thanks for the help on the issue. I've contact corsair and will be rma'ing my unit in the coming days. I'll post back here when i get the replacement unit.
