i quite concern about will the price of GTX 960 will drop once the amd R9 300 series is up to the market on Q2. Will it possible drop to around $190 (non reference type)? Will you guys going to upgrade to 960 from low end gpu if its price dropping, or insist saving money for GTX 970 / R9 300 series?

Once the r9 300 series the gtx 970 is also probably going to drop in price in order to stay competitive and nvidia would probably release something like a gtx 960 ti.

I don't see the GTX 970 dropping in price since the R9 380/380x are supposed to be rebranded R9 290/290x. Now the GTX 960 should fall quite a bit since the R9 370x is supposed to be a full Tonga chip with 3GB VRAM, and thus will mop the floor with the weak ass GTX 960.

Isn't the r9 380x going to be their new flagship called king of the hill?

R9 380x is going to be a re-branded 290x, the R9 390 and 390x are going to be a new chip.

Am I the only one around here who really doesn't like pcpartpicker?
I also like Ubisoft and Origin/EA
Guess I'm just odd that way.

HATER OF MAIL IN REBATES!

It sounded like that for a while, but the newest leaks have it as a rebranded 290x. I imagine AMD is getting better yields now, and can afford to give it a clock bump. If they slap an AIO water cooler on it for the reference design to allow an even higher core clock it could be a really awesome GPU in the $300-$350 range. I personally don't get the hate for rebrands. Much better the company spends their R&D budget on the high end stuff while still being able to sell their previous flagships for a little more profit with better yields now. The 290x is a monster GPU right now and I'd take it over some card designed to be midrange from the beginning.

Snip

I've decided to save some money to get a build and I'm in the market for a high end GPU. Honestly they should price the r9 380x at 300$, the r9 380 at 250$ and the r9 370x at 200$. If they price them like this they would dominate the market and force nvidia to cut prices. Wouldn't be surprised ifwe see 970s going for under 300$. Can't wait for the new cards :D
