I posted help for a build somewhere else and now I just need some approval/pointers/better suggestions from another source as well.

1500$ budget, for gaming at ultra settings (mostly mmos) 1080p. WiFi. I like frapsing, some light photoshop and video editing and alot of space. Have OS, keyboard, mouse and monitor ready. No plans for overclocking.

This is what was suggested to me:

Get the 1231V3, the 0.1 GHz difference is not worth the 20$ extra, use it on a more sweet-looking mobo

Rest looks fine

GPU is overkill, also I would get a Z97 board with a i7 4790k

Not in his budget also stay with GTX 980

get an i5 or i7 NO XEON!

yeah XEON sucks man .

If you try to play games on it it will start burning.

/s

Kidding aside xeon is the best bang for the buck cpu in the market lol.

Locked i7 for 250 bucks , whats not to like.

Like everyone else said.. Get a 4790k instead of the Xeon

or an 4690K

He does video editing, the i7 is more expensive and the i5 isn't going to be better than the Xeon because of them hyper-threading

You are telling me a i5 is better than a xeon for VIDEO EDITING.

Oh god.

Sorry for being rude but that doesnt make any sense.

A budget is a price limit, not a target you have to reach. In his case, a gtx 980 is too much for "gaming at ultra settings (mostly mmos) 1080p". With the saved money, he can get an Z97 board with 4790k for "some light photoshop and video editing".

Spoiler

Thanks so much for all the inputs! I'm on my phone so it's abit difficult to reply to everything.

And yes, I should have put more emphasis on light video editing, nothing heavy kinda youtube material. It will for the most part be used for gamlng. I will try to tweak on it according to what you guys suggested and see if it works for me. Thanks again.
