I'm sure the card is probably dead, but I want to actually make sure before putting some money towards a new card. I've been using the r9 290 since last June.

Just last week my computer suddenly shut off and i was unable to start it again. Fans were spinning but keyboard/mice LED weren't turning on and no POST. All fans were spinning though and at this time my gpu fan was operating normally. Finding out it was a dead mobo, I replaced it and now my PC actually turns on and posts. I noticed my GPU's fan was on MAX and that I had no video on the card. I then installed a secondary gpu in the pcie slot under it (gt 220) with r9 290 still in the primary slot. I have 2 monitors, 1 hooked up to the gt 220 and 1 to the r9 290. Through the 220, I was able to get video and enter into the bios. I then checked my mobo map (Asrock fatal1ty killer 990fx mobo) and shows no primary gpu detected. Is there anything else to check before calling it a dead card?

Specs:

CPU - fx8350

Mobo - Asrock fatal1ty 990fx

GPUs - r9 290/gt220

PSU - Corsair cx750m

RAM - 2x4gb G.skill ripjaws 1600
