Smartband without activity tracking?

Hi, I like to keep my phone in my backpack at school so I don't sit on it or get distracted by it. However I need to be able to receive calls/texts. The ideal solution would be a smartwatch but they tend to be expensive, so I thought a smartband! Unfortunately all of the affordable smartbands I can find are crappy little pedometers that maybe display the time. Any recommendations? All I want is a little display that will tell time and vibrate with a little icon when I get a notification.
