So every now and then people, mostly "gamers"  have problems with the mic on the headset.

Yes its the static background noise which is really annoying to you and your fellow friends online.

So I encountered the same issue for about 6 months. I just failed to fix it and gradually I stopped using the microphone.

But I'm sure everyone would love to communicate with the online community so im back to fix this problem for real!

I bought a corsair hs40 a couple of months ago and ofcourse, it had static issues. I lowered the microphone boost to 0 and turned off everything related to steromix.

This didnt help me a lot. Then i found an option at mic settings called AGC. As soon as i checked it off most of the static flew away. But not completely.

somehow i tried touching the computer case just in case of interference. and YES! It completely makes my voice clear with clear background. This is only when i touch

the CPU case. So now i only have to solve the interference issue.

What could be a good solution to fix it?

Thanks.

In my realtek hd Audio-Manager i played around with the two Settings "noise gate" and "noise reduction".

it helped a lot in reducing the static on my microphone.

give it a try if you have the same options

"Well, not even last night's storm could wake you. I heard them say we've reached Morrowind, I'm sure they'll let us go."
