Black and White Themed Build

GameDragon

Hi, my name is Alfie. I'm 12 years old and have been thinking about building a pc for a while now. Thanks to pcpartpicker, I have decided to do a black and white themed build and I have selected a list of components. As well as for the looks the pc must be able to game at 1080p (at least mid settings) and will be used for web browsing, video editing and other stuff. As I have said, I have already picked the parts but I am looking for some helpful criticism towards my build. BTW: my budget is £850 including monitor and keyboard. Thanks guys!

Nice build. Maybe you could get a cheaper cpu to get a cpu cooler or ssd. You are lucky you get to get parts like this so cheap. Im going to build a pc in this price and with the 960

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?

Never sacrifice performance for speed. Unless it's very small, it is not worth it.

A build of this price should have an SSD, but if you don't want it you don't need it.

The 960 is a big no no. 280/285/280x. They are perfect for 1080p.

CPU is a bit overkill. An FX 8350 or 6300 could do. And, unless you really need it, that AIO cooler wouldn't do that much better than a 212 evo from Cooler Master.. However other than that you're good to go :D
