GSync not working with WarThunder?

Whenever I launch war thunder the red light on my ROG SWIFT indicates that GSync is on, but it promptly turns itself off after a few seconds. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

The game has to be in full screen mode.  Is it perhaps going into a border less window mode?

Nope I double checked that it was running in fullscreen.
