Tea Time gone wrong!

ReTV

I was invited to my former schools new video project group where i basically gave a 1.5hr crash course, covering the basics (choosing the camera, setting everything up, post etc.).

My task for them was to create a short "film", 2 minutes max, with any story they like. They had another 1.5hrs (.5 shooting, 1 in post) to complete this task. There where only a few basic criteria:

- maximum run-time

- has to have some kind of basic plot

They also had to choose a title.

I want to show you one of the results: Tea Time. Unfortunately his camera was set to NTSC which produced an error in communication with the recorder, so the 24p stream was somehow transcoded as 29.98i. That means ugly interlaced frames. But they idea was nice, the shots where nicely done (for a beginner with no experience at all) and since the film doesn't include many motion shots it still looks kind of good.

He threw the 29i onto a 24p NTSC timeline which resulted in really interesting images, especially in motion.

Anyway, here is it:

Also: He puts way too much milk in his tea.
