Display combo possibilites

Hey guys,

I just thought of something as I was staring at my 21:9 monitor...

 

Mainly out of curiosity:

Is it possible to have a central 21:9 monitor (29") flanked by two 16:9 monitors (23")? 

 

If you do the maths, the physical vertical height of those two sizes (21:9 29" and 16:9 23") are practically identical. 

So, assuming that you find monitors that happen to have the exact same framing, just different aspect ratios (I think asus has some same-frame-different-aspect-ratio monitors), would this triple monitor setup be possible?

I just personally think 3x21:9 is way overkill, but since I've gamed on a 21:9, I think it would be great to have a centralised 21:9 with two 16:9 monitors for peripheral vision. 

Or is there a limitation of the gpu (be it nvidia or amd) where you have to use three of the same models.

Sorry if the answer lies within knowing how surround setups work, but I've never worked with more than a laptop+external display, so please forgive me.

of course its possible.

but i think that three monitors with one being a ultrawide is to wide to be comfortable.

Then you must have thought linus' 3x21:9 video is just sickening

So it is possible, just depends if your gpu is good enough to handle it

for gaming its probably great since you dont really look at the outer to screens, they are there for the 'surround effect'.

but for surfing productivity etc its probably very annoying to turn your head to the outer screens.
