My friends and I just built my computer, and everything went smoothly, but my computer seems to freeze completely with out notice. Every part is working and being read in the bios. What could be causing this

Windows 8.1 64-bit

Amd fx 6300

Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 motherboard

Any crash logs or BSOD dumps or error messages, could be a buggy driver

How long do you wait for it when it freezes before reaching for reset, I've had systems freeze for 15-30 mins then recover them selves. Then pop up nice big error message telling me what failed, have also seen many people hitting the rest button right as the message is appearing on screen before I could read it (these types people tend to deny the existence of error messages).

It's quite rare for a modern OS to freeze, stop responding (grey out), BSOD, reboot, yes but a complete freeze with nothing isn't very common.

Just as a precaution, is every driver up to date off the manufacturer websites?

Also, is the bios flashed to the latest version? Sometimes that helps.

The projects never end in my line of work.
