Hello everyone, I am posting this for some help and to show off my build. I have dubbed this build the "Red Dragon". I plan to have the case painted with a red dragon. Always loved dragons as a kid and my birth sign is the earth dragon. So here is the part list for what i have and am keeping as i am tearing my old build apart to do this.

For Sure Keeping
GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 680 Windforce 2gb version
PSU: Corsair TX 650
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8gb (2x4)

Maybe Keeping
CASE: Thermaltake Commander G42
HEATSINK: Coolermaster Hyper 212 evo
HDD: 500gb Seagate

Replacing This
CPU: I5 2400 Socket 1155
MOBO: Stock Lenovo mATX board (Thinkcentre M81 IS6XM Rev. 1.0)

What i'm getting
CPU: I5 4690k Haswell
NETWORKING: TP-LINK TL-WN881ND 300Mbps Wireless N PCI-E Adapter

I can already hear the hate now. "You shouldint game on wifi" or "Ewww wifi gaming"
Unfortunately i have no choice in the matter as my current living situation only allows me to game on wifi.

What i have in mind
HDD: WD Blue 1TB 7,200 RPM SATA III 6.0Gb/s
HEATSINK: Corsair Hydro Series H100i
CASE: NZXT H440 ATX Case w/ Window - Black/Red

Someone please help me decide.
Now when it comes to a MOBO i am having trouble deciding. I want to stay at or below $400 and i can save money if i go with a z87 board or i was thinking of going with the MSI Z97-G45 for only $100.
Will update with images from before the tear-down and as i do it.

As long as the MOBO is from a reputable manufacturer, and you don't plan on doing much overclocking, any of them should be fine.

Yes mostly just the mobo. The msi z97 is actually more expensive. i can get a z87 board for close to free. My company i use is Micro Center. However i do plan to OC the 4690k to 4.2ghz. What i want to know is there a significant difference between z87 and z97 that would warrant the $100 more for the z97.

Well according to pcpartpuicker and a few more people on other forums the MSI Z97-G45 should support the 4690k without needing a BIOS update. so im probably gonna go with that. I cant find the 4670k anymore at micro center so unless someone can give me a different idea for a mobo and processor combo for Under $400.
