Changing coolants

Greetings,

So I know you should change coolants at least once a year but what if you buy a coolant with anti corrosives and biocides in it?Could they last around 5 years or so?

5 years? Definitely not. My comfort zone even with coolants with anti corrosive and biocides is around 1 year, 2 years at the very most.

nope, just change it it's not a big issue if the loop was done with maintance in mind.

You can leave it for 5 years if you like but just depends on how clean your loop was prior to filling etc. If you then keep an eye on everything and temps stay good then I don't see an issue?

I don't think even the manufacturers would recommend that. Whatever the shelf life is according to the manufacturer is really how long you should let it run and not really any longer. For example, Koolance recommends a flush every two to three years for my coolant, or at the first noticeable sign of discoloration.

When using pure distilled water with biocide, it's ok to change it once a year, but u'd wanna chech your components, so... It's a bad idea to keep it 5 years.

Your pc is just like the woman, it needs attention and love. Keep it clean and change coolant every 8-12 month.

Hmm, I might test this theory out, when my girlfriend gets my current PC I highly doubt she'll be changing the coolant every year...

at least once a year. I'm a fan of distilled water with pt nuke I rework and refill my loop every 6 months.
