Stereo is 2 sides and surround is typically like 5 sides.

Surround doesn't make a huge difference in headsets (as they only have 2 cups, compared to a full home theater system with like 5..)

I would go for stereo.

Also, what budget do you have? And don't you think you are better off with a pair of headphones and a mic or modmic?

Some stuff to think about.

I have a stereo headset and can hear where the enemy is just fine. Surround doesn't add that much to a headset.

I don't know a whole lot of good headsets.. I know the HyperX Cloud (and the version 2) are pretty good.. Siberia V2 or V3 or something is pretty good too..

Senheiser G4me.. I heard some stuff about it, but not sure.

^Pretty much this.

I'd still suggest looking into a decent pair of headphones, then a USB microphone to put on your desktop or a ModMic to go along with it, since with gaming headsets there are sacrifices in quality in the build, drivers, or mic.  I have a pair of G230s, the highs are mildly distorted and the mic isn't going to cut it for Youtube.

I will still strongly recommend going with a separate headset and microphone.  You will end up spending a lot more, and getting sub-par performance going with an all-in-one headset.

so what about the sennheiser i heard about their good quality on sound and mic, and i really dont need to get a surround sound headset ?!

Try with 363 which seems to be good.

yeah those are surround sound headset .

Directly from another thread:

Allow me to explain to you why 7.1 isn't the best idea for your case.

We have two ears. We hear sounds from multiple directions based on when we hear the same sound at different times. If you were to get a stereo headset, in which the drivers are no more than an inch or two away from each ear, the sound engine in your games would do their magic and play the sounds through each driver through one ear slightly ahead of another, thus tricking you into thinking there is a sound behind you, in front of you, whatever. This is the most ideal setup for headphones. Dolby 5.1 and 7.1 became a thing, and are more ideal for home theater setups, where the speakers are further away from you, requiring more than two speakers to get this "surround sound" effect. Having 7.1 in headphones are not necessary, and only increase the price with very little return in value per dollar. All you need for the best sounding gaming headphones is stereo, and nothing more.

what if i really dont want to get a spare mic ?

You're loss, we can't stop you. Remember a headset is not a best of both worlds, you will see something lacking in it.

so what if i want to get a mic and a headphone .. what are u suggest me to get, thank you.

My reccomendation is something like the Audio Technica AG1 (or ADG1, which is open backed) or the Sennheiser G4ME. They are from very well regarded manufacturers in the audio world, and the former has an excellent built in microphone. You can check out Linus's review of the AG1's on his YouTube channel. They sit at the upper end of the headset price bracket ($249 at PCCasegear here in AUS), but as far as audio quality and mic quality goes, there isn't much on the market thats really much better in terms of all-in-one solutions.

If you want to save a few bucks, an Audio-Technica A700X (AD700X if you want an open back version) plus a Zalman ZM-Mic 1 Clip on microphone can be had for about $130 USD on amazon, with the step up, the A900X being about $40 more. But if you dont want a clip-on microphone full stop, then the only other option is an antlion modmic, which is about... $50 I think, and attaches to the side of your headphones with a magnetic mounting bracket, or a desk microphone, which I'm not really famillar with in terms of more budget friendly options. I guess I could reccomend the Blue Snowball or Yeti, Samson Meteorite/Meteor and the Audio Technica AT2020-USB, but they all vary in price from $40ish to $110ish so YMMV there.

Some other well regarded headphones can include Beyerdynamic DT770/880/990s (starting at around $200) or the Custom One Pros (on Amazon for $223USD), but again, doesn't really fit the bill of having a mic built in.

As mentioned before, the HyperX Cloud's are a great budget option, as they manage to be one of the few gaming headsets that DON'T sound like a muddy cess pool, and at around $100 it's a good deal. I guess other reviews from Linus himself could assist you through the gaming headphone category like the Steelseries 9H headphones, but as usual, YMMV as far as that goes.

Hope I helped!

Modmic is easily the mic I would recommend if you have the coin.

I'm a big Sennheiser fan so HD 598s, HD 25s, and if you're a poser piece of garbage like me there are also the momentum in an on ear and around ear versions, Which honestly sounded better to me than my HD 25s for casual listening and games.

I know Superlux, Audio Technica, and Sennheiser has great options under $100 for headphones.

As for a microphone, look into the Blue Snowball, AT2020, and anything else you can find in threads on here.

I haven't looked into it, look at reviews on Amazon, Newegg, etc. and see if you can find specific pros and cons that come up on various reviews.
