Question on Thermal Paste

Go to solution Solved by MooseParade,

Just a quick little noobie question:

Does thermal paste come with a CPU Cooler, CPU, Motherboard, or do you have to buy it separately? (And if so, where and what cost?)

If it depends on the kind of components I have, I'm getting an i7-3770K with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO and an Asus P8Z77-V LK Mobo.

Thanks :)

The 212 Evo will come with a tube of TIM. It's decent. The best is IC Diamond 24 Carat which is about $18 a tube.

If you buy boxed CPU coolers there's often applied something onto the cooler.

I think many air coolers come with a little tube. Not sure if it's all that common with watercooling blocks though.

However it's always a good thing to have laying around. It's not that expensive and you might need it at a later point. Rather that, then having to wait for it, because it wasn't included :P
