Planning Intel Build

xxTigerShark

So I am building my first rig and am stuck deciding between these to designs. I have not selected the graphics since I already have a card that will last until the 700 series (ASUS GT 520 Silent). The case I am open to suggestions on as well.

Option 1:

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($324.48 @ SuperBiiz)

Motherboard: MSI Z77 MPOWER ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($189.99 @ SuperBiiz)

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($65.04 @ Newegg)

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($69.98 @ Outlet PC)

Storage: Samsung 840 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($99.99 @ Adorama)

Case: Corsair Vengeance C70 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($119.98 @ Newegg)

Power Supply: Corsair Professional 750W 80 PLUS Silver Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($145.98 @ Newegg)

Total: $1000.66

Option 2:

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($324.48 @ SuperBiiz)

Motherboard: Asus SABERTOOTH Z77 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($230.19 @ Amazon)

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($65.04 @ Newegg)

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($69.98 @ Outlet PC)

Storage: Samsung 840 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($99.99 @ Adorama)

Case: Corsair Vengeance C70 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($119.98 @ Newegg)

Power Supply: Corsair Professional 750W 80 PLUS Silver Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($145.98 @ Newegg)

Total: $1040.86

As I said I am open to suggestions.

My Rig: i5 3570k at 4.2 GHz 1.12 Volts, Hyper 212 Evo, Maximus V Gene, RM650, 840 Pro and Seagate Barracuda, 8 GB of Sniper Ram, and a GTX 770.

What's the system for? If it's for gaming, then the 3570K will give you the same performance as the 3770K. What are you doing for a CPU cooler? I'd personally go option one because the Sabertooth isn't worth the cost of it - you're paying purely for aesthetics.

Case is a personal preference... So just go with whatever you think looks cool :)

It's for gaming, mild video editing, and coding. The cooler is the Cooler Master 212 EVO for both. Somehow forgot that. :)

about 90% of people who want to sli down the road actually don't, so lets call 600w safe

Maybe, I just want to keep all my options open for the future.

I would most likely go for option number 2 whit a small change i would have gone for the Samsung 840 pro. Because that the price difference is not that big and the performance is slightly higher.
