Display Dilemma

So, I was planning on using an LG 34UC97-S in my future build but I kind of want to save money on it so what are some other 1440p options either from LG, Samsung, or Dell (Preferably LG, or if a viable option as using a TV for primary display Sony.)

I mean I like the idea of a 21:9 display but would it be cheaper or better going for either a single or two 16:9 monitor? My build will primarily do Content Creation on Linux, OS X, and Windows and if relevant I plan on doing two way CF R9 290s and an i7 5960X. (I'll also do some general use stuff and gaming) I figured 1440p is the sweet spot for Content Creation, General Use, and Gaming so yeah I'd prefer to stick to 1440p unless I'd be better off going for two 1080p displays.
