It probably makes no difference whatsoever on a real system, but on a crappy laptop, it would make a difference.

You only really need it if you have extremely low amounts of RAM, and a really bad CPU.

 

All that stuff does is temporarily terminate background processes to open up resources. I used an older version of that software on my old system with 1.5gb of ram, and a single core 1.6ghz CPU. It's only useful for really old hardware like that.
