Nvidia Gameworks setting "less demanding"

so i was playing FC 4 with everything ultra and the AA and Ambient Occlusion with the Gameworks options. i was averaging about 35 fps @1080p. i use the default Ultra preset and it sky rockets to 70-90fps.

 

 

?????? arent the gameworks setting suppost to improve FPS not tank it?

Gameworks makes it look better...

 

More graphical fidelity = More performance hit.

isnt TXAA2 or whatever it is supposed to be less demanding than MSAA2?

Yes i said TXAA because i was tired and wasnt thinking properly. MFAA is SUPPOSED to be less demanding but for some reason it tanks my FPS compared to MSAA. Is that a gane optimization problem or am i just plain wrong?
