I have an i5-4690 with a  Asus H871-Plus m/b, using a CoolerMaster Seidon 120M.  This is meant to be a cool, quiet PC.

My motherboard died and I RMA'd the PC back to be repaired.  Since coming back post repair, I've noticed the fans powering up far more often than usual.  I've tried playing with the Asus Q control and the Fan Xpert software with little difference.

CPU temps looked normal (bouncing around 30 degrees at idle, - HW Monitor and Core Temp).  Fan Xpert was reporting temps of circa 30 degrees also, but bizarrely the fans were acting as if the CPU was circa 30-40 degrees hotter than reported.

Then I tried HwInfo and I saw the attached...  HWinfo is reporting that my integrated GPU is running at 80 degrees plus... given I have a separate graphics card, I'm a bit surprised.

However, this does explain the fan behaviour. Despite Fan Xpert reporting the core temps as 30 degrees, the fans are powering up as if the temps were 80 degrees.

Why is my integrated gpu so hot when the cores are cool?  I am now worried about running my PC, because no part of the CPU should be this hot at idle....

Is my m/b faulty, again??  Is this due to massively inept application of thermal paste??  What should I do?

What do you think??  Need to log off now as my family are trying to sleep and my mini-ITX quiet pc sounds like a jet taking off.
