Hello! I am planning on getting myself a new PC. It will be used in 90% for gaming, and other 10% for browsing web, watching films and (very, VERY rarely) video editing. My budget is about 2000$ for computer, monitor and peripherals. Getting help from some Linus' videos as well as few other sites in the internet I collected these parts.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 4GB

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97Z-UD3H Black Edition

RAM: Patriot 2x8GB DDR3 2133 MHz

PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 750W

HDD: WD Caviar Green 3TB WD30EZERX

SSD: Crucial MX100 512GB

Case: Fractal Design Define R5

DVD: Samsung SH-224DB

Cooler: Thermalright True Spirit 140 Rev. A

Monitor: Vievsonic VX2452MH

Mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Core

Mouse pad: SteelSeries 4HD

Keyboard: Corsair K70 Cherry MX

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound

This is pretty much it, now I want to talk about why did I pick those specific components.

CPU - best i5 on the market, easy choose

GPU - heard a lot of good things, one of the best gpus in reasonable price

Motherboard - I don't know, read on one site that it is good

RAM: I could've picked 8GBs, but one game I play (Skyrim with over 150 graphic mods) requires at least 8GB, and I think it may still lag even with 8GB

PSU: I know 750W is a bit too much for this rig, but that is to have no need in buying a new psu in the future, when I will need to overclock CPU and eventually add second GPU

HDD: I use WD as long as I can remember, and I never had any problems with them

SSD: again, I just heard some good things

Case: very good looking and aestethic case in fair price (titanium color, with window)

DVD: random dvd, I would use the one from my current PC if not the fact that computer goes to my brother

Cooler: good cooler in fair price I think

Monitor: heard some good things about it, 24 inch monitor with Full HD display is all I need. It is a big update from my current 19 inch 1366x768 LG monitor

Mouse and Keyboard: many people say they are veeeeery good things for gamers. Same with mousepad.

As for sound, I want to keep my Creative Aurvana Live! They are awesome headphones and I don't need anything else, I will just buy cable extender.

This is it, I want to hear your opinions and suggestions about it :)

P.S. Sorry for any mistakes or if text looks a bit messy, I was writing it in a big hurry.

It's good, however I'd get a cheaper motherboard (namely the asus z97-a, you really won't need anything more) and cheaper ram. In gaming ram speeds are almost irrelevant, so just get the chepest kit from a reputable brand that you can find. Bare in mind that 3tb hdds are the ones with the highest failure rates across the board, so be careful.

-edit-

not a huge deal, but be aware that this is a thing: http://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-cards/anton-shilov/nvidia-we-will-not-boost-geforce-gtx-970-performance-with-drivers/

RAM is wrong. 2133mhz is a waste. The ONLY reason for you to get it is because it's only 5$ or less more expensive than the 1600mhz counterpart. Otherwise, you are flushing money down the toilet. Here's what you should actually buy instead.

WTF is that mobo? I can't find it on pcpart picker. Anyway, get this if you don't want SLI, and this if you do.

SSD: 512gbs? Waaaaaaaste. A 128gb one would be enough, let alone a 256gb. A 512gb is just bad budget allocation. Here, Crucial's lower size solution.

GPU: Nope. Don't get the G1. It's not bad, but you can save 20$ on the regular WIndforce OC, or just save 10$ on the MSI Gmaing 4g, and get a quieter card. Wait.... Define R5... that's a quiet case! Dude, get the MSI, and have a noiseless Pc on your desk.

As for mouse and keyboard, I suggest NOT getting those. It's not that they are bad. But what you should do instead, is go to a local store and try out the options that they have, real life. A cheaper mouse might have a much better feeling for YOU than a more expensive one. If you try it, at least you know exactly what you are buying, as you might end up with something that you paid a lot extra for, but isn't quite good. The same goes for the keyboard.

Now, my last comment. If you follow my entire post, do you know what happens? We save enough money for you to ditch that crappy 1080p monitor, and get a 1440p! Not only it'll last A LOT longer, it'll also look gorgeous. And you have the GPU to pull it off! I suggest you do the math yourself. Get rid of the Vievsonic, and go for the BenQ!

EDIT: There's also this recently launched Dell 1440p monitor. I couldn't find it on pcpicker, but I know that Dell sells it (at least it does in my country) directly on their site. Browse for it.

I don't see why 1080p monitor is crappy. But, true, this GPU can handle 1440p easily, so why not have better quality (but worse performance), yeah? :)

As for mouse and keyboard... My current ones are Gigabyte M6800 and Natec Genesis R33. They serve me well, but I wasn't able to actually test them in some "hardcore" gaming, due to my awesome internet and very bad and unstable ping, which is very annoying and also disqualifies me from any higher level gaming (although I am very good with sniping in CoD 4 :D). So yeah, I guess they are good enough.

Now, graphic card: Currently I use MSI Radeon R9 270, and MSI Gaming cards are really quiet, good looking and well cooled. So if I was to choose brand of new Graphic Card myself, I would choose MSI as a trusted brand.

I'll follow your advice and choose RAM and SSD you picked, but I will choose motherboard suggested by Sauron.

namely the asus z97-a, you really won't need anything more

Bare in mind that 3tb hdds are the ones with the highest failure rates across the board, so be careful.

Actually, one several sites I found people recommending this motherboard from ASUS, so I might choose it.

As for HDD, I can as well buy two Western Digital 1TB WD10EZEX. I have one in my current computer and I am really happy with it, it does its job very well. Also, I barely have more than 500GB of stuff on my 1TB disc, so adding 256GB SSD for System and most performance-heavy games + 2 Terabytes for everything else, I probably won't run out of space in the next 2 years or so :)

So this is new set:

Intel Core i5-4690K
ASUS Z97-A
MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G
G.SKILL Sniper Gaming Series 16GB
EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2
Western Digital Blue WD10EZEX x2
Crucial MX100 CT256MX100SSD1
Fractal Design Define R5 FD-CA-DEF-R5-TI-W
SAMSUNG DVD Burner 24X
Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3
BenQ GW2765HT Black

Considering I didn't miss anything, I am left with about 115$ from my budget, to spend on things like Crysis 3 to test new rig :D (or other games I would love to play)

Thank you for response, if you (or anyone else) has some more suggestions, I would be glad to hear them :)

Bye!
