So ive been messing around with an old gpu in my gaming rig for the week, and ive come across an interesting call of duty 4 specific problem. Even though this card can easily max the game out at 1080p. It freezes up randomly. Sometimes not so bad, other times to the point where i have to alt tab out and manually force the game closed. Keep in mind when its not freezing up the games running beyond 60 fps. Since this is an older gpu it has to run the 340.52 driver. That is the absolute latest driver it can run. Any ideas on why this happens ONLY in cod 4?

If the GPU in the signature is the one in your system right now, it's not that old. Now on the side note, nice paint job lol. Try and reinstall CoD 4 and/or video card drivers. If you overclocked your GPU, downclock it to stock speeds. If that doesn't work, then I don't know what to tell you. Sometimes older games behaves strangely with newer cards. Reinstall Windows... sometimes as time passes Windows seems to collect junk that can lead to problems. Let me know if you need help with this. Good luck.

No the card in my sig is at my friends, ive let him borrow it to see if he wants to upgrade to a 760 from his 650ti boost. The gpu in the image is one i bought off another friend (who painted it) and it is a GTS 250 1GB DDR3

Hmm, I would consider buying a newer, better card.

You dont seem to understand the situation, i STILL HAVE my 760, its still my card. Ive bought this GTS 250 to put into a guest gaming rig im building, for when people come over and they dont have a laptop to play games on. Ive put this guest card into my PC to see what games it can run, and so far the only game ive run into that has a problem is cod 4. and thats where i sit right now. im trying to figure out why it likes to freeze up randomly while running.
