Split between two Mechanical Keyboards.

Go to solution Solved by gts250ftw,

well it also depends on if you want one with a numberpad or without....also i believe the CM keyboards are made in the same factory with filco...meaning it should be good quality...

Hi guys,

I'm split between these two keyboards. The Quickfire is $68 from Amazon with Blue switches (interestingly, the Green Switch version is $120 or so). The Monoprice Cherry MX Blue switch keyboard is $58 from Monoprice.

Now, honestly, I've bought a lot of stuff from Monoprice. I trust both their quality and their customer service. They also tend to have the best prices.

Essentially, the only real difference between the two is media keys (I don't care) and the look. Monoprice's being as plain as can be, while the Quickfire has the grey look and such.

I'm not exactly strapped for cash, but I prefer to save where I can. I just want a Blue switch mechanical keyboard. I might have bought the Green switch version of the Quickfire if it didn't take 1-3 months to ship and didn't cost $50 more.

Which would you choose and why, if you were me (i.e. you trusted both brands in quality)?

Coolermaster's look great, esp if your table is small... Not a fan of the other design, too old fashioned for me

Wow, I didn't even notice that the Quickfire doesn't have a Numpad. Way to fail me.

That kinda decided it. I love the grey look of the Quickfire, but I want a Numpad.

Thanks guys. I'll just do some custom mod to my motherboard (likely plasti dip or something) later.

There is a version of the quickfire that has a numpad (quickfire pro I think) that is around the same price.

The pro's are about $30 more and they only come in with Brown and Red switches according to Amazon.
