Comcast Construction Help

Hello,

 

We recently have called comcast to see about getting cable run to our house. After waiting for 2 weeks they sent use a quote of $1882 to run cable from the telephone pole to the side of our house. Obviously We dont have 1882 dollars for runing cable..............Would they lower the price if we ran the cable ourselves or will comcast not let us do that............Please Help!

Comcast is basically one huge asshole, don't expect them to let you do anything that doesn't involve shoving money down their throats.

no you cant. only cable co or there authorized contractors have the equipment or permision to run lines and alowed acces to those lines.

 

1882 isnt unreasonable.

 

keep in mind there are people that have to get paid. planning, contruction, osp.

 

then you have the cost of the feeder, the strand that holds up the feeder, tap, nuts bolts, the loop peice(cant remember the name) that grips the strand so it can be mounted to the bolt. and the pole if needed.

 

on side note as a cable tech ive seen those loops that the strand is held up by ant its friggin amazing how it holds the strand
