Hello guys, just a quick question should i use for rendering my 970 or my i7-4770, thanks in advance.

CPU: Intel core i7-4770 --- CPU Cooler: Corsair H105 --- GPU: Asus Geforce GTX 970 Strix --- MB: Asus Maximus VI Hero --- RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB

Case: Corsair Obsidian 750D --- PSU: Corsair AX860i --- SSD: Seagate 120GB --- HDD: Seagate 2TB + Toshiba 1TB --- ODD: Asus External DVD-R

Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow 2013 Ultimate --- Mouse: Logitech G602 --- Mousepad: Corsair Vengeance MM600 --- Monitor: LG 29UM65

The rendering will proabbly be done on the internal graphics of a i7 so it would be best to render on the 970, if its only video not 3d

yes but what if the cpu doesnt have internal graphics, like amd fx

im assuming you're rendering a video. Ninja'd :P Video rendering/editing is very GPU intensive well, because its all graphical :P. its what makes you load all the filters or special effects put into it

i noticed that gpu rendering takes about 10-15 minutes more on a 40 minute video, also should i render with cuda or opencl?

well OpenCL and CUDA are pretty much the same thing. heres an article that goes more in depth ;)

If it takes longer with the 970 and there is no difference between the video quality when done on the i7 then u just answered ur own question!

yes but it doesnt make any sense, hypothetically rendering with cuda is much faster than rendering with cpu, am i right?
