Low FPS

1st: Those numbers are BS.

2nd: Your Rigg is on the lower end of the "medium" spectrum, so expect many drops.

3rd: Source-Based games (some) are also verky taxing on the cpu. Insurgency on max (with sli) gets an i5-4670 to 90%.

4th: Running anything beyond +20-30 on top of you monitors Hz is nonsense (except if there are haevier drops).

5th: A drop of 30 between low and high is impossible on that system.

TL;DR:

Your Method of Measuring is propably false.

I tested the fps on CS:GO and Sniper and I saw clearly what fps it was, if i made a mistake in the topic above does not mean that I am talking nonsense. And for the "medium" spec i referred for my needs. I'm not a hardcore gamer to choose some builds based on your choices.

Thanks to all for answers!

Hello! It looks like I have a problem with fps in CS:GO (only this game). I have a "medium" build and i can handle almost every game on the market. Here are the specs with my pc:

CPU: AMD A8-6600k

GPU: Nvidia GTX 750 OC (Gigabyte)

RAM: 4GB @ 1333 Mhz

MOBO: ASROCK FM2A78M-HD+

PSU: 600W

Here is the problem...i play CS:GO with only 160-180 fps (210 in some parts of the maps) on low settings. If i set the quality on full high, i have 20-30 fps less and i think is not normal. On low settings i should have 300+. I run some benchmarks on other games and i have 100-130 on Ultra settings (Sniper Elite 3, Metro:Last Light, etc) and is more than enough but in CS:GO is very disappointing. I tried all the settings in my Nvidia Control Panel to optimize the game but without succes. Can someone tell me where is the problem?

Thanks in advance!

@Neeo

You are lying so damn hard saying that your rig gets 100-130 on last light ultra

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

I think there are misunderstandings here:

By me referring to your specs beeing "lower medium", etc., I'm not implying that the system is crap. I merely wanted to point out, that the difference between min FPS and average FPS we see on Benchmarks and what you are (most likely) having will be exaggerated in your case, since those benchmarks are "best case" and I wanted you to be aware of that fact. And that the reported drop doesn't meet that expectation.

As of questioning your methods:

It's exactly that. I did not question your integrity or your judgement, but rather the way of how those numbers came to be, since they were WAY out of what we expected, observed and know from other tests.

I may have been a little too aggressive on some points, and I apologise for that. I was under the assumption, that you're running your game at >160FPS on a 60Hz Monitor, therefore not only missing some graphical fidelity you could have, but also causing more tearing doing so. I also only read the first 4 posts, since typing without keyboard takes a little longer for me, so I missed your correction.

Guess I had a bad Day.
