Hi there i started a server using freenas 9.3 and everything works fine except one thing. I cannot connect to it from my pc unless i disable my ESET SMART SECURITY 4 Firewall. But on my macbook i can connect no problem... I am running Windows 8 on my pc and ESET Smart Security 4 As my anti-virus. 

Any help is appriciated Thanks

I don't know anything about ESET AV, but there might be an exception you can make to the firewall for connecting to the FreeNAS Web GUI, if that's what you can't connect to.

I don't know anything about ESET AV, but there might be an exception you can make to the firewall for connecting to the FreeNAS Web GUI, if that's what you can't connect to. 

Im not trying to connect to the webgui im trying to connect to just the server... By using File Explorer. Thanks

Have you seen this thread?

From that thread (which is for Smart Security 7):

Please check if the Freenas' IP address is in the Trusted zone.

 

If it is and the issue occurs though, carry on as follows:

- navigate to Setup -> Network and make sure the IP address is not listed in the temporary IP address blacklist
- clear the firewall log
- enable logging of blocked communications in the IDS setup
- reproduce the problem 
- post the firewall log records here. Just in case, also include explanation which IP address belongs to which device.
