How to update BIOS?

Hi there. I just bought msi h81m e35 v2 and g3258. How can I update its BIOS? I don't have any existing CPUs. The mobo needs a BIOS update for this CPU as it was shown on their website.

If the board won't post with your current CPU you're likely SOL unless you can bum a compatible CPU from a friend.

I think it is better idea if you update you BIOS using your original CPU or any compatible CPU which doesn't cause any effect. Or try with MSI Live Update 5 which is useful application for updating the latest BIOS with compatible CPU.

You may need to exchange that board for a 9 series chipset board. Even though Haswell refresh is compatible with 8 series with a BIOS update, there's really no way of knowing what BIOS revision the board will be shipped with. There are quite a few h97 boards that have "non-Z" overclocking for the g3258 if you need to save a few bucks.
