Hello, a have just built my pc a few week's back and i wanted to share it with you.  I have some issues with a ram upgrade i defiantly want 16GB of ram but at what speed and CL? I have looked at intels website and saw that the memory types said 1600MHz, does this mean that it only supports up to 1600MHz? I have also seen rigs which have 2400MHz ram with the cpu I have, are there systems preforming better? Yes the intel cooler is bad but i have an H100i coming so that is sorted out so i can do some overclocking.

My current rig:

I7 4770K

MSI Motherboard

EVGA GTX 970 ACX 2.0 SC

1TB HDD

750 Watt PSU

NZXT S340 case white

Things I need to buy:

H100i

16GB of ram (dunno what speed or cl)

Corsair S120 +2

Intel 730 240GB SSD

BenQ 144Hz Monitor

This was my first time building a computer and i am happy what i came out like.

Get the cheapest 1600 MHZ ram and you should be fine as it does not affect performance much. CPU will not directly affect the amount of MHZ it can go up to. (It may slightly affect it from overclocking but not 1600 MHZ to 2400. Don't worry your build is fine.

Current Desktop Build | 2200G | RX 580 4GB | 8GB RAM | CTRL | Logitech G Pro Wireless

Laptop | 2018 MBA 256/16GB | MX Master

Well i have seen 1866mhz for around £5 more than a 1600 and £10 more for 2133

Faster ram isn't necessary currently, but probably will later. If you can afford it, I would pick up that 2133 MHZ ram, but if you are on a slight budget, stick with 1600 or 1866. Might as well future proof your build a bit.

yes, your build is fine...if you really want higher than 1600 and cash isn't a problem, then go, dude! :D
