CPU / GPU temp restiction

My laptop goes a little hot when playing games like Tom clancy and others and I dint OC my card for that matter.

I was going through MSI afterburner a few mins ago and found a new option called temp limit does any one know how to enable it and also is their any software that can allow me to restrict CPU and GPU temps to a certain limit i.e 78*C

How will a CPU thermal throttle at 70*C

Thermal throttling happens when a processor's temperature reaches a certain limit set by the manufacturer and it slows itself wwaaaaaaay the hell down to stop itself from dying. All you're doing is lowering the temperature limit, so that if it reaches it, it will slow down.

 

Basically, it will throttle if you tell it to.

 

I personally would just tell the fans to ramp up before it gets toasty so that it doesn't get toasty as quickly.

Also, it's a gaming laptop, it's going to get hot.

I thought you were looking for shutdown temps. With CPU those are default at 105C.
