What type do you have, what do you want, favourite flux+remover?

Lets make a thread for soldering!

Let me start:

At the moment I have a cheap noname ebay £10 station but it is bound to change. My school is going to lend me a better one, not sure about the model, that should have multiple tips.

I am off from a soldering course, my soldering skill is at IPC 610 Class 2, with some practice with component placement I could get Class 3 (44 J legged device is hard to position) but I am happy with the class 2 as of now

Favourite component to solder on: Multi legged device, like QPF44 or such, except the ones with 0.5mm pitch

Proudest soldering: 0401 resistors, cannot wait to try 0201

worst: 0.5mm pitched devices

Unit I am going to get: Probably a PACE 130 Desoldering station, as the vacum is a great help to remove solder easier an not harming the pads

well for a solder station, i don't have one only a 25 soldering iron lol , i like to use the 60/40 lead/tin mix with a water based flux for electronics and a acid based flux for wires and everything else

and for soldering skill, eh i'm only a helicopter mechanic

but i did replace my laptop power jack on the motherboard
