there's only windows server 2008 R2 and windows server 2012 as far as I know

I found one called windows home server 2011 but I'm not sure if that would be better to use or worse than 2008 r2 

Windows Home Server is geared towards homes and maybe small businesses, and therefore it lacks some of the more "techie" features, I think. It's been quite a while since I've read up on the different versions of Windows Server.
