MS Office license

So, i'm wanting to re-install OS X Mavericks onto my MacBook that's currently running Yosemite; the only problem is it came with Microsoft Office 2011 pre-installed and so i don't have access to the license key and don't want to lose the software package (as i don't want to pay £90 for another). 

 

Is there a way in which i can extract the product key? I've looked at product key finders and i've come to a conclusion that any free application just isn't going to work. Would there be a way to copy the software onto the SSD after the clean install of the OS and keep it activated? 

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Going to sound like a right noob here, where do i find About Office? 

I haven't used Office on a Mac for some time. I would think open one of the apps, click about on the bar (whatever you wanna call it, I'll call it the Apple bar lol), and see if it's in there.
