So I'm trying to connect two cable boxes to two separate TVs right now and I'm wondering how it will work. If I used a coaxial splitter to connect from the wall and then separate into two separate cables to connect to two separate TVs would they just be a duplicate image or would they be able to view separate channels at once.

Sorry if this sounds confusing but here's a breakdown of what I'm trying to do.

Wall cable - Splitter box - Cisco cable box - TV

                                            - Cisco cable box - TV

So will the displays be duplicate or separate channels? Thanks in advance.

This is the adapter I will be using - http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/insignia-insignia-2-way-coaxial-splitter-ns-hz703-c-ns-hz703-c/10291250.aspx?path=cbd605191f6c229c8603bf7f09d4671fen02

Edit - I added a link to the adapter I will be using.

With the exception of reduced picture quality correct? These boxes do not include HDMI ports. I guess they stream off the main box through the coaxial line. I'm doing this for a friend so I don't really know for sure.

no I'm pretty sure the quality stays the same.

And the cable boxes dont have an HDMI output to the TV?

No they don't, they are just basic boxes that are very small. I suppose they're just for getting a decent picture to the TVs coming from the line in the wall.

Coaxial.

Essentially, it's coaxial in - coaxial out. No HDMI port so it can't display HD images. It's a very basic box, I'll link it quick.

Edit - here's the box and he's got one of them for each TV - http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/video/at_home/Set-Tops/DTA/4025708C.pdf
