Well its been some years since I have looked into a new keyboard and mouse setup. Still rocking a Logitech G15 and G9 mouse. Well its time they get retired since i have had them for a very long time.

My questions are what should I be looking for keyboard wise for games. I love the g15s macro capabilities and the LCD for keeping track of background info. What's out there that compares?

For a mouse I am looking for something for medium to large hands right handed with an awesome DPI for editing and games.

Looking to spend about 300 total.

I would recommend the Cm storm trigger cherry mx red. It has lots of features and good build quality. I also has a two port usb hub. Any mechanical keyboard would serve you well, but reds are good for gaming in my opinion. It has good back lighting like just wasd and arrow keys. I also has pulse and all on/off.

As for a mouse, I would recommend corsair m65 or razer death adder. Most mice from corsair are good so you will be happy with any of them.

Well this is an interesting question. Have you tried some mechanical keyboards? If you haven't there are lots of them that are gaming optimized with backlight and macro keys. The LCD-screen is a Logitech only I think, and the newer models are quite good as well. Logitech makes some of the best membrane keyboards out there.

If you want a mechanical keyboard you also have to look up what switches you like the best! Razer Blackwidow is a gaming keyboard with a good reputation. The Ultimate 2013 edition rock Cherry MX Blue switches. Otherwise Cooler Master, Steelseries and Corsair also makes mechanical keyboards.

As for a mouse you also have to find out if you want to claw og pawn it. Logitechs G-series are as good as they've altways been. Linus have covered some mice from Func that look awesome. I have a G700 now and I can both claw it and pawn it.

Both keyboards and mice are very subjective things that you have to explore and try out for yourself :)

Current build: Antec P180, Asus P8Z68 Pro, Intel i5-2500k, Asus GTX 570 2GB, Patriot 16GB 1600MHz, Corsair HX 650W.

I haven't tried a mechanical keyboard ever. I didn't know what they were till I joined the forum after watching some of the feed uploads. The most valuable thing to me is reliability and comfort. My current keyboard and mouse have lasted a few years with no issues what so ever but the keys are faded and its getting to the point it needs to be replaced. The mouse is good but at the same time it has seen better days. The left button for instance has a pretty noticeable wear mark from my finger. I am notorious for palming a noise as I have good size hands. I will look into some corsair keyboards at the local micro center. That store is worse then a Harley shop. I can't go in without somehow loosing my wallet. At least that's what I tell the wife.
