Hey there,

i decided to upgrade my PC and i'm still stuck a bit on the right parts.

First off my current build:

Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @ 3,2GHz cooled by a Scythe Katana 4

Mainboard: Asus M4A89GTD Pro 890GX

Memory: 8Gb Kingston Value RAM 1066MHz

Graphics: Powercolor Radeon HD7870 PCS+

Storage: Crucial MX100 256Gb SSD and a 2TB WD Black HDD

PSU: Corsair TX750W

My first thought was to go with a FX-8350 since i use AMD for well over 10 years now. I would be willing to go for Intel aswell if that is the better choice.

Important things are mainly gaming, rendering and OC capability. Other things that will be replaced are cooling and maybe memory. The gpu is fine aswell but alternatives are welcome :)

The budget i set is around 600-800€

Hope you guys can help me out a bit.

not much you can keep other than the SSD,HDD and GPU and PSU too

now its a good time to switch over to Intel for better gaming experience

also a good time to pick DDR3 1600 RAM kit before they are replaced by DDR4 in the near future

the most sought after combo is i5 4690K + Z97 MSI Gaming 5 mobo with any 8GB Dual Channel kit

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Well honestly, unless there is a cheaper yet decent 240mm AIO cooler available in your area, those are the best bets and I dont see an alternative that matches their price to performance.

Since you game AND render, I would actually go with an i7-4790k, h100i, pretty much any z97 board that supports crossfire (cheaper is better since theyll all fullfil your needs), and maybe a new case depending on your current one. You dont really have it listed. Any spare money would be saved for a GPU upgrade when you feel you need one. No need to rush that purchase as your current GPU is more than capable and its always better to wait to buy until there's a real need.
