Insaine system usage

so, was browsing LTT when my computer started to glitch and pause for 5 second periods. now a I5,SSD, dual 7950 system should not hiccup web browsing a forum. looked at task manager, and out of no where the system is using

 

60-350 mb/s, and steam is using 60-100mb/s downloading a game thats at 1mb/s? am I the only one confused?Its not glitching right now, but that usage seems stupid high. I mean those speeds are not even possible on HDDs, and Im not doing anything remotely intensive. Just wondering if this is normal or not.

I'm not really sure what you're getting at but let me know if I've got this right.

So you CPU and memory usage is fine, Your HDD/SSD's are maxing out reads and writes?

 

At the bottom of the task manager performance tab there is a button that says open resource monitor.

If you open the resource monitor and go to the disk tab it will show you what processes are using the disk.

 

I would assume if it was only for a short moment, it was probably antivirus, file checking or search indexing.
