Should easily max out games @ 1440p.\

If you're just gaming get a 4690K.

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

i7 9700K (5.2Ghz @1.2V); MSI Z390 Gaming Edge AC; Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB 3200 CAS 16; H100i RGB Platinum; Samsung 970 Evo 1TB; Samsung 850 Evo 500GB; WD Black 3 TB; Phanteks 350x; Corsair RM19750w.

Laptop: Dell XPS 15 4K 9750H GTX 1650 16GB Ram 256GB SSD

Spoiler

That looks like a good 1440p monster. Wouldn't change much - except the fans are kinda un-needed IMO but that isn't a big deal I don't think, especially when the corsair case your getting just the cheaper versions of the same fans. And you really don't need the thermal paste but I get why you want to have some around.

Spoiler

Corsair 400C- Intel i7 6700- Gigabyte Gaming 6- GTX 1080 Founders Ed. - Intel 530 120GB + 2xWD 1TB + Adata 610 256GB- 16GB 2400MHz G.Skill- Evga G2 650 PSU- Corsair H110- ASUS PB278Q- Dell u2412m- Logitech G710+ - Logitech g700 - Sennheiser PC350 SE/598se

Is it just me or is Grammar slowly becoming extinct on LTT?

The fans are purely for aesthetics haha, but thanks for the tip nonetheless!

The psu is OTT. Swap it for the 750W version.

The H105/H110 are both better than the H100i.

You don't really need the extra thermal paste. The cooler will have it's own.

I'm building almost the exact same Pc right now, Almost every part is the same, an I do agree with lee32uk, You don't need 1000w unless you're just trying to future proof.

Running a 1000W PSU at a lower load should increase his energy efficiency (if it is in the right usage range of 40-70% IIRC)

It will run 1440P games very well without any changes but you could optimize the price/performance a little more if you want.

I am addicted to building gaming PCs but I don't have a great reason to stop...yet...

If you use a single 980 you wont have to worry about some of the problems of sli and still have the power to game at 1440p but you can upgrade with another graphics card down the road.
