Hi,

I'm overclocking my asus gtx 660 and i kind of have a problem.

My temperatures are too low, i was running it at about 1200Mhz and my temps were 68°C

I decided too push it too 70°C so i set a Gpu boost clock of 1262Mhz but my temps have DROPPED to 64°C

I've used Bf3, FurBench and 3Dmark 11

And in furmark it says that the core clock is only 914 Mhz, i'm using asus gpu tweak to overclock

What is going on? Is this normal? can i continue overclocking?

What were the temps/clocks in BF3? the same? You should check the fps and see if there is a difference.

In furmark its very normal that the card lowers the clock speeds to prevent damaging itself. But BF3 should boost correctly.

but under gaming load you reach your 1262mhz?

This is my first time overclocking so which clock should i be looking at?

My Gpu Boost Clock is set too 1262Mhz, but GpuTweak only lets me read Gpu clock and Processor clock

I mean the gpu clock. You can see it in a graph. It should say "maximum 1262mhz" if everything is correct.

In 27 degrees (Celsius) ambient temp, a single one of my 670's hits 60 degrees (around 62 degrees after a few hours of gaming) at 1280 MHz and it's a blower cooler. Basically what I'm saying is that I think those temps are pretty normal.

When I run the two cards together, I get something like 60 degrees as well, but when i run SLI, I don't overclock my cards and my voltage stays pretty low.

I have verified these clock speeds and temps in various different games and stress tests (except furmark, my GPU's don't boost properly in furmark) I am to believe this is normal.
